Overview:

Under the direction of the Director of Sales, the incumbent is responsible for developing a strategy and executing to attain departmental goal of maximizing profit by achieving optimal occupancy, rate and revenue for new and non-registered loyalty club members. The incumbent will lead all initiatives involving, wholesale, consumer direct, travel agent (direct & GDS) and other channels.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Director of Sales to develop, implement and measure the department’s strategic plan and objectives. Goals are issued annually in a SMART Goal format. Individual goals/sales action plans should be developed by quarter in partnership with Hotel Yield Managers and property/corporate marketing teams. This person will be expected to grow production, increase ProfitPAR, grow loyalty database for relevant business segments.
  • Act as a role model to all team members and always presents oneself as a credit to Seminole Hard Rock properties and encourages others to do the same.
  • Responsible for building, implementing and managing distribution channels for Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, to include wholesale, 3rd party online travel agencies, and receptive tour operator segments.
  • This person will be responsible for developing new business as well as creating and maintaining business relationships and strategic partnerships, including but not limited to negotiating contracts, soliciting new leisure accounts, and traveling to promote the properties through direct sales calls and trade shows.
  • Partner closely with all related departments such as Hotel Yield, Customer Care, Marketing, Hotel Operations, Information Technology and Accounting to help guide overall strategies and tactics as appropriate.
  • Produce, monitor the production of, and analyze statistical data reports to effectively anticipate trend changes in order to adapt in a timely manner to achieve optimal occupancy, rate and revenue. Includes running reports for property level & corporate leaders.
  • Stay abreast of the current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, and team members as appropriate.
  • Prospect / solicit customers to build transient business and develop and grow relationships with key customers. Lead site inspections for prospect, new, and existing partners.
  • Assist Hotel Yield & Distribution Managers with building distribution systems and configuration for new rates and offers.
  • Develop department members’ knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, corrective counseling, etc.
  • Focus on motivation, teamwork and personal accountability to achieve maximum human resource utilization.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discretely notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  • Ensure prompt and discrete notification to management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.

Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or three (5) or more years of hotel/casino, cruise line, or airline experience in leisure sales, marketing, and/or reservations required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working directly with a third travel partner organization is preferred. Working knowledge of local hospitality industry and culture required
  • Must possess very strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Must be a quick learner and adapt to a dynamic, fluid working environment
  • Advanced skills in MS Office products preferred. Prior experience with property management, reservations and/or customer relationship systems desirable (especially LMS, CMP, RMS, ResNet and Delphi) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekend, and holidays.
  • Some travel is required

    • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
    • Fluency in English: additional languages preferred.
